- On August 23, the NSSF and the ATF have announced their conjunction to offer a reward of up to $2,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the Guns and Grounds gun store burglary
- The Guns and Grounds gun store is located in Bentonville, Arkansas and the crime happened around 3:45 am on August 10, 2021, when criminals entered after breaking the glass front door

CDC agency director speaks out about gun violence and calls it a “disease”
- The CDC’s Director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky in an interview with CNN decided to speak out about gun violence
- In this interview, Walensky stated that her plan is to “restart gun violence research” and “identify effective solutions”
- CDC is using $2,224,482 to fund a surveillance mechanism that tracks the number of people coming into emergency rooms with nonfatal gunshot wounds
Chicago ShotSpotter gunshot detection systems harshly criticized
- A gunshot detection system called Shot Spotter has cost Chicago millions of dollars and they believe it to be an important component in fighting gun violence
- Currently, this system has not produced much evidence to help prosecute gun-related crimes
- The Office of Inspector General’s Public Safety section said the police department data it examined “does not support a conclusion that ShotSpotter is an effective tool in developing evidence of gun-related crime.”
President Biden leaves Taliban armed and Americans with no ammo
- In a statement on August 27, Aidan Johnston, the Director of Federal Affairs for GOA said, “The Biden Administration’s failure to competently draw down American forces in Afghanistan has allowed the Taliban to acquire nearly 600,000 American weapons”
- At the same time, the Biden Administration has banned all Russian-made firearms and ammunition which further disarms US citizens during the ammunition shortage
